4th Grade Readiness

Heading into the new school year, parents can support their child’s readiness for the upcoming grade in a multitude of ways. We will discuss ways to set your child up for success in Fourth Grade according to academics, learning, social-emotional-and physical development.
Topics will include:
What your child should know going into Fourth Grade?
Skills to practice and reinforce with your child prior to the start of the year
Tools to support your child’s learning throughout the summer and into the school year
Ways to continue supporting your child once the school year begins
Our featured speaker is Jackie Mazza.
Jackie has a Masters’s degree in General and Special Education from Hunter College. She is a 4th and 5th-grade special education teacher at Public School 83 and has been teaching for 6 years. She teaches under her special education license and has taught grades 3-5. At Evolved Education, Jackie works with elementary and middle school-aged students helping them to strengthen their skills to become confident and motivated students. She teaches students to maintain organization, advocate for themselves, and discuss ways to become independent learners. Jackie tutors ELA, math and can support IEP goals. She finds building a strong rapport with the student to be key in the tutoring process. The power of education is immense and Jackie believes in modeling this to her students. She loves helping learners discover their passions and guiding them in developing the skills they need to achieve their dreams.
